Sir,
The article on the effect of noise on the health of bus drivers is very interesting. [1] Bruno et al. noted that "bus drivers have considerable level of noise annoyance and some health effects are perceived." [1] In fact, there is no doubt that noise annoyance is an important problem for the bus driver, affecting their health. However, there are several conditions that can co-contribute to the problems among the studied drivers. The underlying diseases and psychological problems, the socioeconomic background, and the workplace environment should also be considered. In addition, some drivers might have additional health risk behaviors such as alcoholic drinking and tobacco use. There is no doubt that noise should be considered as an important factor destroying health of the bus drivers; but, it is not the only problem. Finally, as an extra solution to solve the problem, "a redesigned workstation" can also be proposed as an effective method for reducing psychological stress of bus drivers due to exposure to noise and environmental insults. [2] An interesting solution to solve the problem is "buying buses with a rear engine."
